Your information. Your choices.
Privacy policy · Updated October 11, 2026
IronConvoy is a free community service in testing. This page explains the current app’s information practices. You can browse this policy without an account.
Accounts and the information you share
Password signup needs a username and password, not an email address, real name or home address. We store password and recovery-key hashes, sign-in sessions, your driver handle and any optional profile details you add. Earlier ChatGPT-linked accounts can include a verified email address. Keep your recovery key private; it can reset your password.
We store the posts, replies, road reports, reviews, parking reports, convoy activity, check-ins and meet-ups you submit to operate these features. “Public” member content is visible to signed-in drivers; it is not a promise of confidentiality. Friends-only and convoy content have narrower audiences. Other people can still copy what they see or hear.
Optional public driver profiles
Public profile sharing starts off. If you enable it in your driver card settings, anyone with your link, including people without an account, can see your handle, selected artwork, bio, rig, home region, membership date and optional trucking details. Link previews include a downloadable image of that information. The public page does not include your account credentials, live check-ins, posts, Buddy conversations or detention journal. You can disable the link, but screenshots, downloaded cards and previews cached by other services may remain. A public profile is not identity verification.
Location and maps
Nearby radio uses precise location on the server to match drivers within the selected radius. Other drivers are not sent those coordinates. Location is optional for nationwide channels. Finding nearby stops uses your location for the search; selecting a stop does not check you in.
A check-in deliberately shares your selected stop and availability with accepted friends until checkout or expiry. A meet-up can share its planned stop and time with its chosen audience. Automatic Driving Mode processes speed on your device; that feature does not send speed readings to our server.
Maps load tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives network requests and the map areas requested. Radio connection setup uses Google STUN servers; direct voice connections can reveal network information such as an IP address to peers. If truck routing is enabled, route searches and truck dimensions are sent to the routing provider identified in the planner. External links have their own privacy practices.
Voice and peer support
Your microphone starts off. People on your selected radio channel can hear you while it is on. Direct voice uses WebRTC; fallback voice sends short audio clips through our server and storage. Relayed voice is not end-to-end encrypted. New relay clips expire from playback after 15 seconds; physical removal happens during subsequent cleanup and is not guaranteed at the exact expiry time. Live voice is not automatically screened.
Need a Buddy is peer support, not confidential therapy. Anonymous aliases hide your profile from members, but the owner can identify accounts for moderation. Titles and opening posts are visible to signed-in drivers; live-chat messages require joining, with owner access for moderation. Avoid sharing medical records or unnecessary identifying information.
Private records and safety review
Detention journal entries are private to their account and remain until you delete them. Text screening may hold submitted content for owner review. Private safety reports and support requests include the submitting account and are visible to the owner, not the community. Moderation and security records help investigate abuse and protect accounts.
Retention and your controls
Remove your own content using the available delete controls. Parking reports stop appearing after two hours and other road reports after 24 hours; disappearing from a feed does not mean every stored record has been erased. Buddy live chats expire after 24 hours and discussions after 30 days, with physical cleanup during later Buddy activity after an additional seven days. Moderation records are separate.
Open Profile → Settings and choose Download my data for the supported account export; its manifest explains exclusions. The detention journal has its own export and deletion controls. Driver card settings let you end password sessions. Signing out or clearing browser storage does not delete your account. For account deletion or another privacy request, use Contact & support. There is no one-click full-account deletion control at present.
Browser storage and service providers
Cookies maintain sign-in. Local preferences remember accessibility choices, Driving Mode and other app settings. The offline screen does not cache account data or voice. The app has no advertising integration or third-party marketing analytics. Hosting, network and storage providers process requests and may retain operational logs under their own practices.
We use account and content data to run the service, provide your chosen sharing features, handle support and review abuse. The landing page shows aggregate activity counts without driver names or message content. IronConvoy is not a certified confidential or emergency service.
Questions or changes
The app owner handles privacy requests through Contact & support. This policy will be updated when the app’s practices change. Check the date above for the current version.
